An Introduction to Everyday Wisdom
January 25, 2017

“Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment” (Proverbs 4:7 NLT).
Why is Wisdom so Important?
Wisdom is the essence of who God is. He is love, but His love is demonstrated through His wisdom. Jesus is the personification of that wisdom. Every action, every healing, every miracle and every word Jesus spoke came through wisdom. If we truly want to represent the Kingdom of God and be used by Him we must get wisdom, understand wisdom, embrace wisdom, and make the wisdom of God a part of our everyday lives!
Getting Wisdom
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. (James 1:5-8)
Wisdom from God is available for the asking. He’s not upset, but actually pleased when we ask. Perhaps you remember when King Solomon, at the beginning of his reign, asked God for wisdom. God not only gave him wisdom but showered him with Everyday Wisdom 5 the blessings of wisdom; riches, honor, and long life.
God’s wisdom always comes with benefits. In fact, Jesus said it is the wise man who hears God’s Word and does it. The foolish man hears God’s Word and refuses to put it into practice (Matthew 7:24-27). The wise person, therefore, builds his or her life on the immovable rock of God’s eternal Word while the foolish builds on the shores of ever shifting sands. In the end, the wise person stands through the storms of life while foolish people are washed away.
Today, the world is in desperate need of the wisdom of God. We should be enjoying success and blessing all around us, but instead, we experience the opposite all too often. The difference is the wisdom of God. Enjoy Everyday Wisdom from God so you can be and do all that God has called you to do!
